The door knocker was originally sculpted by hand in a wax-based clay. This is a copy created from a silicone mold of the original. It is cast in a durable urethane resin and coated in a high-quality metal paint. The patina is a faux patina which is a combination of paint and wax. This seals the piece and provides a stable appearance over time (unlike a traditional chemical patina which may change over time). It is recommended to display the door knocker indoors away from the elements.
The door knocker is attached to the frame with screws. On the back of the frame is a hanger for hanging on a nail or screw.
